Hi again,Tom's Hardware.
I finally managed to decide about my new laptop/notebook:It's a Lenovo G505S.
Well, the hardest decision come out when we talk about its OS:Free DOS.
Nothing wrong with it,but...I'd like to give it a try with Windows 8 [not 8.1].
How do I know if its all hardware is fully accomplished with this kind of OS?
May you help me to know, please?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

It will work fine with Windows. The freeDOS is on there to satisfy contractual obligations against using non-MS OS's and to keep costs down. They can't just sell them with nothing installed in most cases, so they do that. Windows models of the same units are available as well. It will install and be supported fine.

Is it the same thing for Windows 7 [not SP1]?

Only Windows 8, 8.1 and 8 Pro have come on that model to the best of my knowledge. Using Windows 7 on machines intended for use with Win8 can get iffy, as there may or may not be driver support in Windows 7 for the internal hardware. Sometimes it will work, sometimes not. I wouldn't recommend it anyhow as Windows 8 has much better hardware and driver support. If you don't like the Win8 Metro interface and screens, you can always install Classic Shell which returns it's look and feel to the Windows 7 desktop and start menu while retaining the core support of Windows 8.

Classic Shell free download: http://www.classicshell.net/

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I'd highly recommend using 8.1 anyhow. If you'd like to avoid having to go through the long and torturous process of upgrading to the point where it allows you to do the 8.1 upgrade through the windows store, you can avoid it by using your legitimate 8 key to generate installation media here:

And following this process:

What I meant is...Will be there an annoying notification in Windows 8 to force me do the update to 8.1?
Can Windows 8.1 get installed without that GWX?
Last time,I've used my old setup that haven't GWX,I've used it only with automatic updates turned off... but, still,GWX files were there.

I've just got an August 2013 Windows 8.1 version which I turned off the updates for.
I'll use it for my laptop.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards.
