Should I get the Intel i5 4460 or the AMD FX-8350. Because they cost around the same and I dont have that much knowledge techwise.

I must point out that I want to stream and record games on a high quality, without a great drop in frame rate ingame.

Games I like to stream are: Rift, Elder Scrolls Online, Battlefield 4 and Lord of the rings online.

I now have a Intel core 2 Quad Q9550 with 8GB RAM DDR2 and a GTX 750ti

Right now I can stream and record some older games, but it feels really laggy in-game. And I think upgrading to one of those new chipsets might fix that. (Other suggestions to help improve streaming and recording games are ofcourse also welcome)

Solution
The processor you need depends on the streaming software you're planning to use. FRAPS and ShadowPlay are perfectly happy with an i5 because they're light on system resources.

As well as upgrading the processor (and motherboard) I assume that you'll also be upgrading the RAM? Two 4GB 1600Mhz DDR3 DIMMs will do nicely.

For gaming, I would get the i5 every time. The AMD chips can't compete in per-thread performance, which is very important in games. If your primary usage was 3D Studio Max, then the FX is better.

I got a budget around 300 euro. And I was planning to buy a upgrade kit with motherboard, processor and RAM already in it. Both the upgrade kits with those 2 processors cost around the same.

So the conclusion is I should go with the i5 ?Should I also get a new HDD? Because its only 5400 RPM, maybe that will bottleneck it?

If you can wait a little longer, see what Skylake will have to offer. The only issue with buying the 4460 now is that the motherboard will be redundant almost instantly, and your upgrade path will be limited.

I'd definitely recommend a good 7200 rpm hard drive. WD Blue and Seagate Barracuda offer a good price/performance ratio.

I can't comment on OBS as I've not used it, so you should find out more about the recommended system requirements before committing to a purchase.
