Hey guys,

I am doubting between 2x8 G.Skill TridentX 2400 MHZ and 4x4 Corsair Dominator Platinum 2666 MHZ
Which ram set would perform better?
Do not consider money costs between these two, I can get them for around the same price.
I know 2x8 is generally better than 4x4, but then again 2666 mhz is better than 2400.

Thanks in advance!

First, you'll want a K model CPU to be able to run at full data rates with either, along w/ a Z97 mobo (assuming you have them, but wanted to clarify ;) ) Bring this up as an 1155 rig or an AMD rig chances of running 2666 are extremely slim.

As to the best performance, I myself would go the Tridents, they are stock at 2400/10 and 2x8GB - so ever so slight performance gain of 2 sticks vs 4 (not noticeable), but also they will generally OC to 2666 at CL11, where the Corsair Dominator 4x4GB set is native at CL12. CL11 is better performance wise than CL12, and from testing I've done on comperable sticks, the Tri's are a little better than the Dominators at same data rate/CL sets
