Hey All,

I recently reinstalled windows 7 and now have no sound whatsoever. I have the little speaker with a X on it in the system tray and when I hover over it it shows "No Speakers Or Headphones Are Plugged In" when there are indeed so. :??:

I've done drivers, looked at the audio services, enabled all of my audio options in my BIOS, Just about everything I can think of.

Also when I go to playback/recording devices all of the buttons are greyed out accept for "Ok" and "Cancel".

It would be VERY much appreciated if someone could give a guy a hand. :D

Thanks,

This is because you do not have the right drivers. Please list computer name/model # or motherboard (make sure to include model number or product number). I had this problem I found out that I was installing the wrong drivers even though that was the drivers recommended for my computer, go figure. Anyway I had the same issue as you're describing it above.

Hey Chiisu,

Computer Is a HP xw4600 Workstation with a 0AA0h motherboard. I've tried literally every single driver on the Realtek site however. Even the 32 bit version.

After many days trying to fix it I went into my BIOS for a 4th time and found they reset this time. The previous 3 had all my audio enabled but not this time. Enabled them again and drivers installed.
