Hey guys,

I´m new here, so first of all, sorry if I posted this on the wrong place.

So, I´m building a custom water cooling but i´m really new at building this kind of "thing".

I´ve been reading the sticky post and all I can find on the internet, but I still have a lot of doubts and questions.

I´m planing to water the cpu and the gpu(waiting for the AMD 300 series).

I´ll go in terms of rad, for an Alphacool Monsta 360mm, and as far for the cpu block, I chose EK Supremacy Evo(be free to tell me your opinion on this two).

But I still dont know what pump to choose and all the other components.

The fans leave them with me :)

The cpu is a 4790K, and some good board I haven´t decided yet(advice will be good here too if you want), cause I´m building this in the near future.

My case is a Corsair Obsidian 800D.

As far as the money, don´t worry about it :p

Sorry for some errors, portuguese is my main language.

Thanks in advance ;)

I like what I read about the new Heatkiller CPU block version 4. I think xtreme rigs did a test an comparison of it. In regards to the rads I like the coolgate g2 but it is not as thick as the Monsta. its in the UT60 class but with better efficiency and less ports. I think the G2 has 5 were as the alphacools has 7 or 8 if my memory serves me right. But my input is based on my research I have not yet built so no real world application to base my opinion on.

I´ve chosen this two, based on some research that I did, reviews that i found on sticky threads. :)

Well I made my mind abou a rad so thick, because of an information that I read about rads, saying that a thicker one would be better to cool more components.

What is that block CyberJoe? Any review with a 4790K?

Well someone told me to put this pump and reservoir combo:

http://www.ekwb.com/shop/pumps-and-accessories/pumps/ek-d5-series-pump/ek-dbay-d5-pwm-incl-pump.html

Any opinions?

It´s supposed to fit on front of the case, by removing some HDD cages, well no HDD cages need to be removed :p

Edit: That heatkiller looks really good.

You know after all the reading I did if my memory serves me right that 800d is pretty big you could do a tube res in it, I considered a bay res thought it would be a bit more functional based on placement of the tower around my desk, but I read a lot of issues with getting them filled enough to avoid getting air into the pump and then stuff about possible deadspots if you use anything other then plain distilled water. But I think the filling issue could be over come with flex tubing long enough to remove it from the bay during the filling process/topping off steps. And deadspots or what ever it is called is only issue with the specialized coolants and dyes.

Based on your edit I think you found the reviews on the heatkiller.

Hey cyber, I think i´ll go for Swiftech MCP655, and a reservoir.

That cpu block is sweet too, might get one.

So, already have the rad, pump, cpu block, and I´m using 100% destilled water with biocide.

Fans should be 3 of these:

EK-FAN Silent 120-1600 RPM

Any advice for a reservoir?

If your not using a combo then get just make sure you get one that makes filling and draining easy for your set up. Remember if the res is too small you will have to do a lot of priming to fill the system. At the same time it might be cheaper to buy a small one and change the tube out with something bigger. Which is the route I choose to go because the combo unit I buying only had 100ml res/tube so replacing it with a 250 tube.

Sorry its hard for me to type I had hand surgery recently.. The size of the res is up to you because the system loop does not require much. So you can go small or big or anywhere in between. Most choose the size to fit the look or available space in the case and the ease of servicing the loop. The res really just helps to deter the introduction of air into the loop. Which is why you don't need a big one, but size has its benefits. As to the pump I think 655 is the same as the D5 with out double checking, but you need to mount your pump directly to the pump as long as you the tubing in the correct order between it and the loop. If you decide to mount directly too you need to find a res that will support the pump with a direct mount or buy a res and change out the base with what I believe is called it a pump top base. Take a good look at the reservoir options and res accessories as well as pump accessories.

Here is the res/pump combo I buying. http://www.performance-pcs.com/ek-xres-100-d5-pwm-incl-pump.html
I plan to switch the actual tube out with a 250ml tube. http://www.performance-pcs.com/ek-res-x3-tube-250-204mm.html
Why because I think it will look better in my case then the 100ml and make it easier to service the loop, by holding more fluid for the initial priming of the loop.

Some Pump tops: http://www.performance-pcs.com/pump-accessories/shopby/pump-accy-type--top/pump-type--d5/

Hopefully this made more since. if not I hope someone else can step in help me clarify as I am still new to this myself.

Oh, hope you get better fast ;)

Yes now i fully understand what you said before.

Well I will go for the EK combo too, makes it easier, especially for a guy that has 0 experience with custom watercooling like me.

My corsair would look cool with that 250ml reservoir...

What about the tube dimensions?

A guy told me that he uses 10/13 tube, will it be compatible?
