I have two 6870's driving three monitors. This works just fine in extended mode, but when I try to set it up in eyefinity mode the screens go blank and I have to hard reboot to recover. Could this be a power supply problem? I am running an 850 Watt modular power supply.

More than likely not. The reason being is that together they draw only 300W, and unless they use more power in Eyefinity, it does not sound like the PSU. Also since they work in extended mode just fine, I would check the drivers.
