Hey guys, quick (hopefully) question.
I am in the middle of slowly piecing together a new build, but would like use my 8GB sticks that are for the new PC in my current one. I am running on 4GB of RAM currently, and an ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO mobo, with 64 bit Win7.
I have seen lots of questions, and some answers about using 8GB sticks on this board, and one of the issues most have is upon installing the new RAM, the PC won't even reach POST.
That being said, I have also seen several people stating that a BIOS update is necessary.

So, my actual questions:
It looks like my mobo will support the RAM, but it is indeed labelled with O.C. Should I do anything special because of this?
How SHOULD I go about with a BIOS update? I read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/328076-30-m4a785td-bios-update , are those the steps I should follow?
Also, upon browsing the files for download from ASUS, I'm not sure which I should be downloading...?
Lastly, I just ran through the QVL from ASUS, and my RAM (G. Skill RipJaws 8GB f3-1600c9s-8gxm Isn't listed specifically, should this be a concern?

Thanks in advance, and best regards!

Solution
I've had trouble with 4gb sticks of oc ram in that board. Best to make sure they run at 1333, if they will run at all, and you will definitely need the latest bios.

Thanks for the response.
Upon further investigation it looks like that particular stick can be ran just fine at 1333, not sure if I will have to tweak any timing due to this?

Also, if you happen to know, does the link seem to have the correct information? And should I simply download the newest BIOS version and then flash it? Sorry if it seems like I'm seeking handholding, but it has been some time since I've had to deal with flashing anything, and am always wary of potential losses.

The mobo is designed to run up to 16GB of DRAM in a 4x4GB config...Since each channel can accomodate 8GB total, it can be possible and have seen some do these on an odd mobo here and there mainly 1156 and 1366 socket mobos, but no guarantees. Won't hurt anything to try
