Will my micro-atx mobo support 2way sli w/gtx 970?

My first gaming rig as a novice was a lenovo k430 ideacentre. I know it supports sli for gpus from 2012 so I don't know about current gpu support. I have upgraded everything myself except the motherboard, ram, and cpu since I wanted to wait for skylake this year and get a whole new mobo package w/ddr4 + and overclockable cpu.
heres exact pc:

Since I know witcher 3 will stress out my current gpu + cpu running @1440p, I want to know if my mobo would accept 2-way sli with another msi gtx 970 gaming. I know my case has a LOT of room but my motherboard is questionable...

Let me know what you think guys

oh and if it helps:
i5 3350p
Corsair TX750 psu
CM Evo 212 cooler
2 ssds and 2hdds
10x 120mm fans
12gb ddr3 ram
msi gtx 970 gaming

in that case dont sli, or else the top card is gonna overheat. i also doubt that future games are going to stress the 970 much at all. Id say keep the 970 and get the 980ti later.

most mATX boards should support SLI. just look at it and see if there are more gpu slots under the msi gtx 970 gaming. also get skylake if you need or prefer efficiency, because it isnt really performance focused.

yeah it has 2xslots but the gpu would almost be touching the gpu on top of it im worried the top card could get way too hot

also, should I just wait for a 980ti because of the 3.5vram issue?maybe that should be a new thread lol

Ah. Thanks for that. Other than power consumption and cooling requirements, I can't think of any other reason why they would say you're limited on what card pairs you can use in a dual-graphics configuration.

If it were me, I'd just stick with a single, powerful card. If you went with SLI, the the positioning of the cards will block cooling for the top card (as TheNewGeek420 points out). Putting in a new motherboard comes with it's own set of issues; primarily the front panel connectors.

actually, i already upgraded the case(antec 1100 v2) to allow for better cooling but the usb 3.0 front panel connector is for 4gen mobos so I know what you mean when you say the front panel issues.

thx for letting me know, i decided on getting a second 970 for sli (and because of that extremely tempting game bundle deal on amazon, had to order it lol!) and hope the 10 x 120mm fans are enough to cool those beasts until the 980ti
