shared system memory windows 7

Solution
for the onboard gpu share memory is set by the vendor an bios. it can range from 64k to 1024 or larger. when you set the shared ram you making the ram that usable for the system smaller. if you only have 4g of ram and set the video ram to 1024 you only have 2.8g or less for system ram. so your system would slow down unless you hasd a lot of ram installed.

Ok but if it says my dedicated graphics memory is 4096 and shared system memory is 1243 and total available graphics memory is 5339 me does it mean I can use 5 gbs of VRAM on my external gpu?
