I'm looking to upgrade my GPU soon so I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me information on which way to go for the best one.

I only have £200 so anything under that is best.

I also need to buy a new PSU soon so if anyone could give me an idea of which would be best for me that would also be appreciated.

My current build is:
FX6300
SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 7770
GIGABYTE 970A DS3P
ZALMAN Z11 PLUS Case
8GB RAM

Msi r9 280x £170

Whether the price difference of £40 for what equeates to 10% max performance difference is debateable (personally I don't think so)

There are then numerous models of the gtx 960 for £160-170 - IMO the 280x is a better choice of tbese 2 UNLESS you have an interest in the witcher 3 which cones free with the nvidia cards.

PSU wise - that's incredibly easy

You can do the 285 + the psu for well under £200 & that leaves budget for an aftermarket CPU cooler if you don't have one ;)

^ if it were a little extra id be 100% in agreement - its pretty much 25% though which puts me 50/50.
Vram is a non issue IMO at 1080p.
Its a shame that in the UK all the amazon & eBay resellers snatched the cut price 280/280's jut after xmas.
The 280s were going for less than £130,280x's for the £150 mark.
That 285 is at such a great price point it's hard to ignore though IMO.

Ya that is a great card for that price, I've had one for over a year now and it mined for a good 6 months with it and it's still running in my 1080p rig without issues and oc's well. But with a psu he would be over budget.

Look into the R9 280X!
