amd a10 7850k vs r7 240

Solution
One is a CPU, the other is just a video card, you need to list a budget for the full system along with some detail what you think the system will run (or what you want it to run). You can compare price for the two parts and even video speeds, but you can't really compare them as one or the other since you need to pair the R7 240 with a CPU and the A10 is a CPU and video card in one.

Well, I'm all for the better CPU - a high end part will last longer, and you can add better discreet graphics later when you aren't strapped for cash. In the short term, your gaming performance will be worse, but everything else will be better. Generally speaking, graphics should cost about twice as much as the CPU for a balanced system.

Where are you trying to go with this post???

Are you comparing the graphics of the a10 that you already have to a 240 to figure out if a 240 would be a good upgrade?
Are you asking if a10 is better or worse then 240 + some other gpu?
Something else?

also what parts do you already have?

I am asking because i don't know what's better for a budet build
I am in a budget
I still have nothing
I don't know what to get
So what's better?
An amd a10 7850 (with 2400mhz memory) wich will be overclocked and then when i see i am getting poor performance (in the future) i will upgrade it with 750ti
OR
say a g3258k and an amd r7 240, since both can later be upgraded ?
Thank you all

I would advise to stay away from the apu/fm2 route.

The best of the best cpu in that platform can not beat a core i3 in real performance.

You can get a core i3 AND h81 motherboard for the cost of that a10 cpu alone.
So you have the money you would have spent on the fm2 motherboard plus the cost savings of not needing 2400mhz ram and an aftermarket to put towards a gpu that should be at minimum a small step above what the a10 comes with.

While the performance is only marginally better you will have a significantly better upgrade path, instead of being already maxed out with the fm2 platform (not to mention the higher heat and power usage).
