Is this an acceptable temp for msi gtx 970?

I have recently purchased an msi gtx 970 and I'm slightly concerced with the temps I'm getting.

My case has 2x120mm intake fans at the front and 1x120 exhaust fan at the back. There is no option for installing a fan on the side.

Anyway, yesterday I was playing Divinity and the Gpu got to 73°C. Today I run Furmark for 30 minutes and the gpu stabilized at 77°C with fans at 78%

So, should I be worried or are these acceptable temps for this card?
Would buying better fans improve the temperatures on the graphica card? I'm planning on replacing the case fans with 3 Noctua 120mm 1500 rpm fans. Do you think this would help?

Well, that is a bit high as well. I live in Scandinavia, so our ambient temperature is on average much lower.

I would not worry if I was you. Keep an eye on the temps, if the max temp is <=80°C, then you should be fine. If it becomes >80°C, then you should start to worry.

If the problem persists, try and disassemble your GPU and remove the heatsink. Clean if there is any dust, reapply a new layer of thermal-paste and reattach the heatsink with the GPU. Make sure the two parts are properly connected with screws.

What is your ambient temperature? You can have as many fans as you want, but if the ambient air it pulls in, is fairly warm then it will not make a huge difference. In extreme cases, opening a couple of windows in the house of the computer, may prove to influence the temperature of the individual components.

Having said this, 77°C as a max temp, is not that bad. However, it can for sure be improved upon. My STRIX 970 never rises above 70°C when overclocked and under heavy load for hours.

I agree with Whateverworks, thats hot, but isn't at the same time, It may just be ambient air and maybe not circulating well. You can prob get software from MSI and adjust the fan speed higher if you wanted to cool it down more. Stable at 77C isn't too bad :)

I live in the North of Spain so temperatures here are not too high. 25°-30° in the summer. Today it was 18°c when I run Furmark.

I think you are OK, you can inspect the case while open for dust build up and clean that out too, may help, or upgrade/add fans if that's an option if you are worried. If that is a reference card they can run a little warmer too.

I live in the Desert, own two MSI Golden 970's housed in a NZXT H440 (NO AIRFLOW!), and overclock the crap out of them. Mine get up to the low 80's, but I know that's due to having two close together and in a case with little airflow.
What is your case? If it's something at least slightly restricting in terms of air, then I would say your temps are exactly where they need to be.
