Hi! Eariler today i was having issues with Google Chrome pretty much locking up my entire computer, i could still hear my friends on TeamSpeak 3 but i couldn't really do anything, so i had to hard reboot. I got in and i kept having issues with it, so i thought i would completely reinstall it, i went to uninstall it, but when i tried, my whole computer froze for about 20 seconds again but then came back saying it had removed Google Chrome. So i went to delete the Google Folder to completely remove Google Chrome, but when i tried, my computer froze again but then came back and gave me an I/O Error. I don't know a lot about I/O Errors but doesn't that indicate that my SSD is failing or that the file system is corrupt? The weird thing is, i can remove all other files fine, and my computer seems to run fine otherwise, i was playing GTA Online all day yesterday without issues (GTA V installed on my HDD not SSD). So what the hell could it be? I can delete all other files on the SSD it seems, just for some reason Google Chrome is giving me a hard time.. Could someone give me some ideas of what i should do?
What i have tried so far is to:
* Remove my 4.0Ghz CPU Overclock
* Uninstall Antivirus
* Running CheckDisk at the time of writing this, it just got started.
* Trying to remove the folder though Command Prompt (it didn't delete it/nothing happened, ran it as admin)

My specs are as follows:
GTX 980 SC
i5 3570K 4.0Ghz
16GB 1600Mhz
Corsair Force 3 120GB (Where Google Chrome and OS is located)
HDD 2TB (Cannot remember brand)
ASUS Z77 V-LK Motherboard
Running Windows 8.1

If you would like any more information just tell me, i would really like some help with this! :)

The checkdisk just finished, it seems to have fixed it since i could now delete the Google folder without issue :) I am using Firefox now and i don't even know if i want Chrome anymore :p FireFox is awesome, don't know why i didn't use it before :/ Oh well, everything seems to be working right now, i'll get back if something fucks up again.. If you think i should still be worried, please tell me, but as far as i can see, it seems to be working :)

I have experienced times where a file or even a folder would cause my computer to freeze up or lag... and become unresponsive for several minutes.

If are you sure it's caused by Chrome... then that means something became corrupted with Chrome. If there isn't anything you need to recover like bookmarks or something.. then I suggest a complete cleaning of Chrome, assuming that's the problem. Don't forget that Chrome has a hidden folder in AppData\Local\Google ... there's a good chance that's where the corruption originated from. If you're having problems deleting... try going to Task Manager and seeing if the process is running..

It's good that it's working again. But I would also go delete that hidden folder... if it's still there... in case you decide to install Chrome again... that way everything will be new and nothing from your corrupted install will be carried over.
