Hello,

I think I might have nudge the heat sink on my ASUS GeForce GTX 970 4GB DirectCU II BLACK
when installing it, it did move quite a bit.
It looks like this

fzLJE3C.jpg

The card usually idles at 35C but now it is at 40-45C idle. That's 10C more.
It's the same story under load, he heat builds up much quicker and reaches 80C and I think thermal throttles at 1350MHz, before it it maxed out at 70C at 1500Mhz
There's no dust or likewise, the fans are moving.

Do I need to apply new paste, can I RMA or do I have to deal with it?
Has anyone else had this problem with this heat sink?

It seems to have been fixed.

I removed the card and wiggled the heat sink just a tad bit. It must've been a third of a millimeter of a change or less.
The screws were all tightened fully but the heat sink still felt a bit loose. I hope I don't have to remove the card again for a time...

Temps are lower, 3C more than normal, but the room is warmer than usual due to me benchmarking a couple of PC at the same time.

Idle temps where high because SKYPE decided to use 45% gpu @1135 MHz
I fixed it by turning all the setting off in the nvidia control panel profile for skype and put it to adaptive for performance.
