Will the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO Z87 mobo be good for overclocking my i5 4690k? Is this a good mobo? If not, any recommendations?

Unless it's used, it should be ready to go for the 4690K, the BIOS updates for it were like a year ago or so. And yes, OCs great, I've got mine 4770K at 4.6 (in sig), as mentioned above the Z97 is better, I liked the Z87 so well built a Z97 also and it's better ;)

You will need to do a BIOS update before that Z87 motherboard will work with that CPU. That means you need another CPU that works to boot with before you install the 4690K.

Get a Z97 chipset board so you don't have that problem.
