I'm looking at either purchasing another gtx770 superclocked 4GB DDR5 to sli or purchasing a gtx970. The 970 seems a bit cheaper at the moment, but I can't see any performance numbers between the two. Does anyone know how to do the calculations easily or is there a website with the information that I am looking for?

Thank you in advance.

Go with the single 970. It is for one cheaper, and you should have more performace with the 970. The single 970 will be much more efficient, so cooler and less power draw (if thats something you care about), and if you have a 970, you can later add on another 970 so you have 2way sli of 970, which they are much better in sli because they are newer and more efficient.

That argument aside, despite the 770 costing more than the 970, overall you'd have much better performance and more headroom at higher resolutions.

That's where the gravy train ends however. As noted above, you're missing out on a much nicer process with CUDA core performance increases that make you wanna cry. The power draw of a single 970 is less than half of two 770's which for me would be a deal breaker. We're also rolling into summer, where SLI/Crossfire can really bring the house down

I'd go 970 and try to sell your 770 online to maybe recoup half the expense. One single powerful card~

I wasn't aware of how much a difference there was between the pixel rate of these two cards and at a fraction of the power consumption gives me the confidence to go with a single 970, and possibly later upgrading to SLI two of the same. Right now, I'm still rocking an i5-2300 2.8GHz Proc, the GTX 770 superclock 4GB DDR5, Coarsair 120GB SSD HDD OS disk, 2 x Samsung 840 256 GB SSD Game Drives for Steam/Origin/Uplay...so I don't need to upgrade, but figured if the pricepoint was down and I could benefit from an older model card in SLI, then I might do it. I appreciate your feedback and will wait to buy a 970 if/when I sell the 770 or if nobody buys it, then wait for it to die of natural causes.
