What are the things/folders that should be kept in windows 8.1 C drive?

i didnt partition my hard drive coz i didnt know how to when i made my pc and since then ive been putting everything in the c drive. i want to format everything and install windows after partition and would like to know what are the folders that should be kept in the c drive. Thanks.

i know that, i did a fresh install so i dont have windows.old
all i want to know that is that is it ok to keep just the windows folder in c drive after partition coz all i want is windows os in my c drive and all the other stuff in other drives like program files x86
i know formatting would erase the c drive this is just a general question :)

Ok,

You can install programs to another hard drive, but you cant just move them to a different hard drive.
When the programs are installed all these registry keys and shortcuts are created, if you just move the program folder then none of these items will work anymore.

You can configure windows to put your user account folders on a different drive (or can just store your pics, music, documents in a different folder as well), but just moving the users folder will not work.

Thanks! so if i format my pc for a fresh windows installation what do i have to do to keep only the OS in my C drive and everything else in the other partition?
