Overclock not constant

Ok so i overclocked my i7 3770k to 4.5Ghz but it isn't running at that speed all of the time. I disabled intel speed step but it still lowers the cpu frequency when idling. how do i make it so that it runs at the full 4.5Ghz all of the time? I am using an Asus Sabertooth Z77 motherboard if this helps.

Idle is about 25-30
Gaming/Load is about 55
Intel Burn Test is about 65-70

need to go to windows power options and change it from balanced to performance--in control panel

though not sure why you would want it running at full speed all the time

it would kick in full speed if cpu load was over about 20% anyway but save power and cpu temps when cpu power wasnt needed

are you running asus AI suite?

the settings in that may over ride the others if you are

did you disable all of the C states? not just one?

i only found 1 setting that said c state in the bios. would there definitely be the option to disable multiple in the asus sabertooth?

ok i found it.. i missed the other c state settings. found them now. thanks a lot for the help

I would suggest allowing it to clock down when idle. There is no reason to waste power and create heat while doing nothing. It will clock back up faster than you can do anything on the computer anyways.
