New graphics card. Very low fps

So, installed gtx 660 OEM version 1.5 GB and i am getting very low fps like 10 in DOTA 2 . I installed gpu-z and checked load, core speed and memory speed and they remain very low during the game. Core speed ~ 300 Mhz, Mem Speed 160 MHz and load ~ 25 %.
I think of two reasons, my cpu temperature is getting very high like 90-100 C or even above but i was getting gine fps with HD 4850 in this setting.
Another reason may be that old drivers are not COMPLETELY deleted although i did delete them . What do you say?

There is something definitely wrong, your cpu temps are way too high. Most of them idle around 30 and max around 70 or so. And when you switch from AMD to NVIDIA and vice versa, you really have to delete all the old drivers or it will cause issues.

Yeah, on the temps, WTF?!?!? That thing must be throttling so hard, I would take off the cooler, remove ALL the thermal paste, get my own. Is he on a stock cooler or something?

They said an OEM version, so yeah it's a stock cooler. I would do exactly what you said in tandem to getting a driver cleaner utility to remove the old AMD content.

I'm not entirely sure how they could even get that hot, did op forget to plug in the cpu fan?

Perhaps, they should be checking all cabling as well. I honestly think it's a dirty case combined with old AMD drivers not playing nice.
If not dirty case, take that card apart and clean it out and new paste.

Some pics would be really useful if op could provide us with some.

I will be installing new windows today to take care of the issue of old drivers as most of you have said. I will share the performance after doing so. If that does not help, then I will move to the cpu temperatures issue. Thanks

LOL you should fix your CPU issue first, don't want it to burn up.

And if you really are getting close to 100c, then its the CPU that is causing the low FPS due to throttling.

Yeah, I reinstalled windows but it's still the same. I will take it to some shop tomorrow to get a new heatsink and thermal paste. Hopefully, it will get right. I just didn't supect cpu temps for low performace because I was getting fine fps with my previous HD 4850. But still, I will take it to the shop and report tomorrow.

Ok, so i went to the shop and got my cpu temps right. Now, they go to 65 C at max. Now, the fps are approximately 30 and still kinda DOTA 2 lags whereas the fps were about 45 on my HD 4850 and the game ran smoothly with same settings. I ran 3d11 performance test on 1280x720 and got P5237 score. I dont know how that rates. Also, why are my fps still kinda low on DOTA 2. I have installed 350.12 NVIDIA drivers. Thanks

Ok, so i checked on the internet and the issue is supposed to be with the local lobby in DOTA 2 where I get around 30 fps. In the normal game with VSync turned off, I get around 70+ fps.
So, the issue was apparently with high cpu temps which were shooting to about 116 C :p Now, they go to 65 at max.
I am going to install Watch Dogs shortly and I will report the fps. Hopefully, they are normal. Thanks
