My bios isn't loading.

Hi, Im just finished building my pc, I turned it on and everything ran fine. When I connected it to my tv (waiting on my monitor) I turned on my pc, waited for the option to open bios to appear and pressed f12 (it's what the screen said to press). When I pressed this the screen went black, I waited for a couple minutes but still nothing.

I don't know what's wrong with it, if its the motherboard (Gigabyte 970A-DS3P) or something else. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate as I've been anticipating this build for quite a while now. Any answers are appreciated :)

Psu: CX600M (Corsair
Ram: Hyperx Fury 8 gb
Hard drive:WD Blue 1tb

I don't think it's the tv. Whenever I turn my pc on I get the screen saying "Gigabyte" but when I press f12 it just goes blank :L.
I fear it may be the motherboard, hopefully it isn't. :)

I went over to my buds house and plugged my pc into his monitor and the bios came up straight away. Thank you and anyone else who helped :)
