Hi,

I recently purchased and put together a build with the following motherboard and processor:

Motherboard: Gigabyte: GA-H97M-D3H
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1220V3

When I powered up I get no monitor signal, checked my monitor with my laptop and it works fine, and get the one long beep two short beeps from the speaker.

So does this mean that my motherboard is bad? I have read several forums where they think that this means the board is bad. I also saw several forums where they instructed to remove the memory sticks and reinstall them, which I did and it did not work.

Since the Xeon processor (E3-1220V3) has no graphics capabilities would this be creating the issue and am I missing something during the install that I should be doing? Or should I take everything apart and return the motherboard and get a replacement or different style, brand?

Any help you can provide is most appreciated. Thank you.

Well, I initially installed a new K620 board and it did not work, then removed the board and it did not work, then I just re-installed the K620 since I hadn't tried to re-install it, and now it works. So I must have not seated something properly. So looks like a false alarm.

Your message did help me think it through a bit more which resulted in a good result. Whew! :)
