Is this a good rig for play games at ultra and with a monitor of 144 hz?

If your current monitor is only 1080p@60hz, get a 970. You can always upgrade to a 2nd 970 when/if you get a better gaming monitor.

Also, your mobo choice is way overkill as you are paying a LOT for that color scheme. Unless it has some special features you want, you can save over $100 by getting a mid-level mobo.

I would get a Samsung 850 EVO SSD instead.

Yes very nice! i really dont have much to change in this. CPU is good, so is mobo. 980 is great, ssd is good, water cooler for overclocking is good, case is very nice, psu is enough. You should be getting around 90 fps on bf4, ultra 1080p, and can even game at 4k at lower fps but still playable.
