I bought GTA V recently and have been tinkering with the settings ever since to try to get it to run smoothly. I have horrible stuttering all the time, no matter how low I put my settings. I've read all over the place that the game runs silky smooth if you have a decent setup, and my machine exceeds the recommended specs. Here's my setup:

ASUS GTX 770 2GB OC edition
Intel i5 4670k @ 3.4 ghz
16 gb 1600mhz RAM
MSI Z87 Motherboard

I don't know what is wrong, please help!

The 2GB GTX 770 is killing you; GTA loves 4GB cards. Likewise, not having an i7 hurts a bit.

I have a 2GB GTX 770 and 2600k, and can't get close to maxing GTA. Based on my rig, the settings you can run:

Resolution: 1080p
Textures: Medium [This is where the 2GB GPU hurts you the most]
All other settings to high
FXAA and no MSAA
All Advanced Settings to Off

Not sure offhand how much an i7 helps over an i5, so you may need to back a few additional settings to medium.

I use a laptop.

intel i7 5500U 2.4 ghz

geforce nvidia 840m 4gb

1 tb hard drive hdd

6 gb Ram

both i7 and ram get 7/10 but my g.card gets 5/10 .so its possible to run this game at mdeium quality.

But when i start, even tho i get 40-50 fps, after about 2-3 minutes everything shutters, has some white partiles when i move around, and even in the main menu, and fps drops dramaticly, especially when i m driving..

can overheat cause something like this? or my specs are too low?
