Bluray Player To Computer Monitor?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to hook up a bluray player to my computer monitor as well as get the sound to come out of my speakers? Is there a way to do this? I assumed that there would be an HDMI port to plug it into a computer but I heard of some VGA adapter or something, or is there a way to to switch channels on a monitor? I don't have the monitor I would use or the player yet but I'm wondering how to do this before I go and buy something.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to do it without having to unhook my GPU display and keep switching them out, or is there a way to route it through the GPU?

there isn't one, but monitors will most of the time have multiple inputs and you can switch between them from the monitor menu. most bluray players will have a HDMI output and most graphics card will have a DVI output and both can be connected at the same time, the monitor you will have to select whcih one you want to see. the problem is sound, most speakers don't have multiple inputs to select from.

Thanks for your reply, Is there a way to get sound? Like, some spot I can link from the computer to the speakers? Or a color coded cord converter? Sorry, I don't have too much experience with these things
