If I use a slow hard drive with a fast hard drive will the slow one affect the performance of the fast one?

Today i bought a hard drive and am wondering that if I can use it with my super slow hard drive which is 2-3 years old.The reason of changing that hard drive was because it was affecting some games like watch dogs, skyrim etc cuz they use significant amount of data form you hard drive in spite of using the data from the ram.So my question is will it be better to use the new hard drive only or using that super slow hard drive with the super fast one??

Solution
You can update your GPU drivers.
If the issue persists, the I would say that the issues you are facing could be RAM related. You may need to add more RAM, something like 2x4GB. You can just borrow a RAM stick from somebody and see whether this is the case.

Regarding the HDD, you can just install a game on your new HDD and see whether this will solve the problem.

Hi there Showmic,

What do you mean by fast and slow HDD? Your old drive may have some issues. So, it may be a good idea to test it with some HDD testing tool. In case there is something wrong with it, you need to back up the data that is stored on it.
Apart from that, you can just use your new and faster drive for OS and heavy and demanding games and programs. On the other hand, you can use your old drive for just storing data such as: movies, pictures, songs, etc.
That way, you shouldn't have any problems.

Cheers,

one more question.if i use my os on my old hard drive will there be any problem with the performance or if i dose how bad will be the effect?
Btw thanks for the help :D

Generally, when talking about gaming, the HDD's speed will mostly impact the loading times.
So, your gaming problems may not be(or entirely) HDD related. Even though you have not listed your system's specifications, I can say that more RAM would be useful.
In case the drive is healthy, I see no problems with having your OS on your old drive and running your games on your new one, which is presumably faster. I don't think that there will be any bad effect.

My system requirements r,
Cpu-i5 4590
Gpu-r7 250x
Ram-4gb ddr 3
Now my question is i am getting a lot of fps drops in games like Dragon age inquisition, skyrim, watch dogs etc.I play on 1366X768 resolution. In case of this game i get like 30-40fps in inquisition on high settings,50-60fps in skyrim on ultra settings watch dogs 30-35fps on medium settings
but frequently get fps drop to like 5-6 and it sometimes freezes for 2-3 seconds.I have noticed that when this fps drop/freeze happens the gpu usage drops to 50-70% but usually it uses 95-99%.
I thought it was my harddrive causing this issue but the old one is fine
So where is the problem?my friend has the same rig and everything works fine on his pc.But those same games have some issues in my pc.
plz help!!!
