Overclocking with only 3 parameters?

Hi, I overclocked my 4690k to 4.3 GHz 1.15V with only touching cpu vcore, cpu voltage mode and disabling turbo boost. Is there something else I should do? I did the stress test with cpu voltage mode on override and then now I run in adaptive, but it only seems to reduce the voltage of the CPU, the frequency always stays at 4.3 GHz. Is this ok? Should I modify something to get the frequency down when idle? If so, what?

Solution
to lower the frequency when idle--enable C states in the bios--enable speedstep in the bios

in windows--control panel--power options set to balanced

Ok so should I let it like this or should I enable the parameter that enables the frequency reduction? Is there any downside to running constantly at max frequency even if my voltage goes down on idle?
