Which to replace ? Geforce 590 or i7 860 @ 2.8Ghz ?

The Witcher 3 is around the corner and I decided to give my aging PC a boost for the occasion. But I have not been keeping up to date with the latest hardware news and I need the community's wisdom.

To improve performance, should I replace the Geforce 590 (which cost me an arm back then) or is it the CPU+RAM that is the biggest bottleneck ?

I can afford a 500~600 bucks upgrade, any recommendation ?

If it's still performing decently, I'd wait and see before any major upgrades but obviously the card has limited memory, so that is likely to restrict the options/settings you can reasonably use.
It will also suffer if The Witcher 3 has poor SLi scaling, again, wait, because it may take a while before the game get good SLI support.

First actual change I'd suggest is that you look into overclocking the CPU, it's an older design but even a fairly modest boost to 3.4GHz made a big difference in CPU intensive games with my i5 750. As always, your actual OC will vary, some overclock madly, some will barely budge.

As ffg7 says, please post the full system specs, and include the display/s details, more pixels demand more power.
