ASUS VII Hero underclocking 1866Mhz to 1066Mhz ram - No XMP

Ram wouldn't allow post when first installed, pressing the MemOK button allowed to post but underclocks the ram to 1066 with 1.6v

I don't have ram with xmp, so that is automatically disabled in my bios.

Just changing the frequency causes the motherboard to refuse to post until I press the MemOK button again.

The Q-Codes that appear when the motherboard refuses to post are 32-36 "CPU post-memory initialization"

Is there anyway to get my ram up to speed or am I just out of luck?

It looks like a CPU socket bent pins issue. I suggest removing the CPU and checking...

Alright I cleared the cmos and booted with just one stick in the first slot, posted and booted fine, bios said it was running at 1866 1.5v, task manager said 1333.

Switched out sticks but kept the same slot, same result, just fine.

Put both in slots a1 and b1, Q-Code 33, wouldn't post. (This is how I had them)

Put both in a2 and b2, same result, wouldn't post, same code.

Put them on the same channel in a1 and a2, computer boots just fine, both seeming to run at full speed.

Any ideas?

Edit: If it adds to anything I have 2x8GB sticks

It may do, but my motherboard would not post with the ram out of the package. I had to press the MemOK button which effectively underclocks the ram, allowing it to post.

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to run the ram at full speed or if I've just hit an incompatibility.

One itty bitty pin, just nudged with tweezers, booted just fine with my original configuration, bios reading 16GB 1866Mhz.
Now the task manager still reads 1333Mhz, is that some kind of bug?
