Hi everyone, sorry I'm posting a new thread because I don't know how to reply to people.

I'm planning to run 2 reference r9 290's with a phenom ii 1065. Would a 1000w rose well power supply do the job?

For the motherboard would the MSI 970 work? I'm planning to do some over clocking with a hyper evo 12.

-Only reason I'm getting the 2 reference r9 290 is because I'm getting a good deal.

-Will upgrade my CPU to a i5 later.

-Want to run the most demanding games on 1920x1080p. Won't upgrade GPU for 2-3 years.

How much will the CPU bottleneck?

1. That power supply will work

2. MSI makes great motherboards and there great for overclocking

Your GPUs will run games maxed out for the next 4-5 years, but your CPU is a problem, why are you getting that CPU why not a FX processor?

That CPU will choke miserably (used to have one). An FX/i5 would be a massive step up.

If you already have the CPU and want to upgrade later for cost reasons, your path from there would be the FX-8320 (overclock the crap out of it and it's a better deal than the 8350 - mine will run a 4.6 GHz overclock)/8370. For 2 video cards, you'd want to run with the AMD 990 chipset instead of the 970.

To be honest, if you haven't bought the video cards yet, go for the i5 and one video card combination first. A single 290/290X with a good CPU will beast its way through most games @ 1080p or higher resolutions on a single monitor.
