why does the computer pick up the usb but now show it in the computer screen

Hello, when the USB is in the computer it makes the sound saying its connected but it does not show up in My Computer.

in Devices and printers it shows up not not as the name i game it when i first got it(6 months ago). it shows up as such:

SM3254AD MEMORY BAR

another of the same brand show up as such:

JumpDrive(this one works)

The USB is LEXAR 8GB

I'd suggest that you take a look if it is recognized in Disk Management and if it is - try to assign it a new letter, to see if it shows up in Windows Explorer (My Computer). Here's how to do that: How to change the drive letter assignment in Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP or 2000.
You could also try the USB flash drive with a different computer and/or device, to see if the same thing happens again.
Do you want any data recovered from this USB flash drive or you just want to be able to use it with this computer?

It would be difficult to recover data if the flash drive has become faulty, but you could still try your luck with data recovery software. Here's a site with some options: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm/ If nothing helps, you could try with a data recovery company as well.
