i recently upgraded my internet speed to 152mbs , but i cant receive that because my laptop only allows speeds of up to 100mbs

Solution
Assuming you are on Windows 7, try going to "network and sharing center" then look for "change adapter settings". After that, right click on the device you use to connect to the internet with and select properties. On the window that pops up, click "Configure" and click on the window that says "Link Speed". on there, look for the pop down menu under "Speed and Duplex". Make sure it is set to something that will allow it to run at 152mbs. First try "auto negotiation", then if that does not work, then try 1Gbs Full Duplex. If that does not work, then you will probably need a new LAN adapter.

Perhaps one of the various, cheap USB2 or USB3 WiFi or Gigabit adapters? Google that. For WiFi, you'll probably need a router that's this fast. For wired, every leg on a wired network would need to be 'gigabit LAN'. Of course, since USB2 is probably what your notebook has, a gigabit LAN adapter would top out at 480Mb/s.

Given all of this, it's unlikely any single site will ever serve anything close to 100Mbs to you. I mean, never. With a big torrent with thousands of users, you probably still won't get that last bit of bandwidth.

High internet connection speed is more useful for multiple users and devices, sharing it. Like getting a VOIP call, while watching netflix on the TV, and downloading stuff at the same time. Plus, re-read your ISP's terms and conditions for weasel words. They will say 'up to'. Expect far less than the maximum, at all times.
