Overcloking on a Asrock with AMD FX 8320,possible ?

Hi Guys.
Actually i woud like to overclock my FX 8320 (3.5Ghz) to 4.0Ghz. I read a lot of articles in this forum,and also other forums... but I see that motherboard isn't build for OC. I really would like to overcloking,but it's possible with this motherboard ? thanks

My Motherboard is a Asrock 970 extreme 3

You can, but it's not recommended. That motherboard only has 4+1 power phases. This means your voltage regulators will reach their limits before the CPU, and your risk for throttling (which is downclocking the CPU to avoid overheating) increases. This is a known issue. Look here (click on Asrock at the bottom, and look at the user experience all the way to the right):

Yeah i've seen that motherboard isn't build for overcloking. But for OC to @ 4.0Ghz it can be possible ?

It can be. Since the FX-8350 runs at 4.0 GHz, you can theoretically reach it with the FX-8320 as well, without experiencing (much) throttling. You can try it. Just take it easy. I'd like to say it doesn't hurt to try, but it can.

Yeah,my OC work ! but I have a problem: the CPU ratio varies between 7.0,14.0 and 22.0. Its' normal ??
