Hi,

I'm building a NAS, and I bought a Gigabyte GA-H87TN mini-itx mobo. Upon arrival, I realise that I don't know how to power it!

I have an ATX power supply, but there doesn't seem to be anyway to convert the ATX adaptor to the 2 pin 19v input on the board.

Googling around, I can't find any information on these 2 pin 19v inputs, or a PSU that supports them.

The mobo has a 19v DC external input too, is the preferred way of powering these boards?

Can anyone recommend an external power supply?

Thanks!

Solution
That's not a mITX board it's a thin mini-ITX board and it is powered by an external 'brick' like a laptop. What are the rest of your bits?

The case you put it in should have a connector for it, if you bought a thin mini-ITX case.
I need to know more. What is the rest of your system, what CPU, storage, case, .......

Just what sort of NAS do you plan, and you need SODIMM laptop-style memory.

You will need a BOIS update for Haswell Refresh CPU and a cooler will needs to be careful chosen to cool enough and fit.

Yeah - I didn't realise that this was a 'thin mini ITX' and not a 'mini ITX'. I didn't even know thin mini ITX was a 'thing'. The website I bought it from listed the board as a mini-ITX.

They've allowed me to send it back, and I've bought a standard mini-ITX which works fine with the rest of my bits.

Thanks for you help
