So, currently I am running 32 bit windows 8 and I want to upgrade to 64 bit windows 8, I have this on my USB and already formatted and ready to be booted from, but when I try to go into my BIOS to change the launch options I can't get into it. When I boot up my system I get no screen telling me what key to press, but when I press del a few times during boot up sometimes my computer doesn't load to the desktop and I just stay at a black screen until I switch off my system. Also I have disabled quick-start in the options.

Also so far I have tried:

Pressing F2 and Del when booting
Doing advanced start-up (Gives me a black screen)
Using command prompt commands.
Holding shift and restart, then I have no option of "use a device" or "UEFI boot", just advanced start-up.

Any ideas why I can't either get into my BIOS or see it?

Thanks

Look up what motherboard you're using. Options for entering BIOS should be in the motherboard manual. If this is not a home-build, directions for getting into BIOS should be included somewhere in the documentation.
