Hi,
I need help about TRIM function on my Kingston SSD NOW V300 Series, motherboard Asrock N68C-GS FX, OS Windows 8.1 Pro x 64.
Excuse me for my poor english.
So HDD Sentinel show me performance 80% and TRIM function is supported from SSD, but disabled in Windows and i need upgrade. This show me HDD Sentinel.
Then i checked in CMD is it TRIM disabled with this comand:
fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
TRIM is enabled, according to CMD
I did all steps from this two sites below:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/39569-trim-support-ssd-check-enable-disable.html
http://forums.tweaktown.com/asrock/52774-enable-disable-acpi-hpet-table.html
Resolution on ACPI HPET table in my BIOS, but nothing...
Forbade defragmentation and hybernation, still 80% performance on HDD Sentinel.
May be just the motherboard does not support TRIM enabled?
Because i want best SSD performane 100%, not 80%.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Amigo1982,
Windows 7 and later require the SATA ports to be set to AHCI in order for the TRIM function to run automatically. The AsRock N68C-GS FX motherboard has SATAII ports and the motherboard manual does not indicate there is an AHCI mode available. In the absence of TRIM our drives are designed to do Garbage Collection when idle which performances a very similar process to clean up the drive. It may not be running since it thinks TRIM is enabled in the operating system even though the commands are failing to run since it is not in AHCI mode.
Since this is a SATAIII drive running in a SATAII port in IDE mode there is going to be some general performance loss due to the functional limitations of SATAII and IDE. Has the drive...

Has the drive always shown at 80% in HDD Sentinel since it was installed? Or is this a recent developement after using the drive for a while?

Thank you for using the V300!
