Evening people hoping someone can help me,

Upgrading my inboard graphics to dedicated graphics tonight everything was going well i bought a radeon hd5450 before anyone says i know the graphics card is mediocre but i am on a budget anyways back to the problem.

I plug it into the slot hoping nice n straight forward boot my PC back up and nothing at all computer comes on i can hear it booting up ready to go but my monitor will not power on at all just blank. im guessing it doesn't seem to like my new card

I have tried switching the monitor back into the mother board rather than the graphics card while the PC is still on and still nothing. when i take it out of the graphics card it says not connected so it does know it is connected to something but i have to physically take the graphics card out again for my system to boot up with the monitor again so back to square one

I read somewhere to go onto BIOS and disable the on-board graphics card which i have done and make sure to select boot from PCI which i also have done but still nothing.

Any help would be amazing as really was looking to get this working tonight

Thanks in advance guys

Nope not using HDMI i am using the standard blue VGA connection as i have an old monitor would getting a DL-DVI adapter make a difference

That doesn't work because as soon as my new graphics card is plugged in and i turn my computer on regardless of the on-board graphics being enabled or not the monitor doesn't recognize the computer.

thanks

Tbis problem may have been sorted but just to let you know if you have your graphics card plugged in it will automatically override your onboard graphics so if you want to use onboard graphics then you need to unglug your gpu
