Hi all,

I can't seem to find a straight answer or not regarding additional memory I am purchasing. I am looking at the two options to purchase found here:

G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) (Part #: F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) (Part #: F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231455&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The Ripjaws series is cheaper, so I'd prefer to go with it. However, I am reading in certain places that the Ripjaws series isn't compatible with processors after Sandy Bridge. With that being said, I'm reading elsewhere that it is compatible and works fine with Haswell (which is my processor's gen).

Does anyone have any input they can provide? If I can get the Ripjaws, I'd be on cloud 9. If not, and everyone states to "stay safe" and go with the Snipers, I'll do that. I just can't seem to get a clear answer.

Here are my system specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory (Current): G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (Part #: F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM)
Additional Memory:
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG UH12NS30 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer
Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor
2nd Monitor: Dell P2214H 60Hz 21.5" Monitor

Thanks for any and all input.

The Ripjaws X were released aimed at SB, but they work perfectly fine with IB, Haswell (and refresh), and AMD rigs..even on the 2011 socket mobo for which the Ripjaws Z series was aimed at. I have them pretty much tied for #2 on Haswell with the Snipers (Trident X is #1) and the RJ X and Snipers are my favorites for AMD builds
