Hi all
I have a gateway computer running an AMD phenom x4
I picked up a 2gb stick of ram a few weeks back to upgrade from the 1gb sticks I had (total 6gb. 2x2gb...2x1gb)
After installing had an error during startup as I didn't replace as a pair. Totally forgot they had to be done as a pair...Essentially had 7gb in there now. Computer ran fine and I ordered another 2gb stick. Installed today beside the other one and turn on computer...nothing. Fans run but no noise from hard drive and no signal to monitor. So I remove replace original ram. Still nothing. I remove cmos battery for a min and replace. Nothing. The ram is obviously compatible with my system as they are both the same ddr2-800mhz
I am at a loss and any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Have you tried using them in different slots? are the Ram sticks fully in ?
Some laptops have a "MEMOK" button you can press, im not overly sure what it does, but it's helped me before
