It all started on Friday, when the 970 that I was waiting for for half a year arrived. I was so excited I paid no heed to the instructions and popped that bad boy in with the only percaution taken was shutting the pc down. And now it's dead. On Saturday I gave out a futile attempt to fix it, even made a thread asking for help. But I only made it worse as later that day the monitor refused to display the pc, as well as my chassis power button light not working. But today the pc didn't turn on all, and now I'm in a pool of my own tears texting this. Help. Me.

As a side note a reason why this may happen is that I was plugging the 24 pin connector from my mobo quite a lot as instructed by a user on one of my threads. It's quite hard to lock it into place as well

How many watts does your power supply give ? Maybe it's too much hardware ? I assume you made sure the button on the back of the PSU was in the right position ;) If it won't turn on AT ALL, you should test the power supply with the paperclip method.

What is your PSU?
Do the above post ^^ and tell me whether or no the monitor displays the transition screen (the screen where you get to choose whether or not you want to enter the bios or do some other cool shit depends on your motherboard).
Tell me exactly, have you grounded yourself before plugging in the video card? Have you powered off your PSU entirely by pressing the OFF switch on it's rear?
Have you tempered within the boundaries of your 970 heatsink?

Edit:
If you're really feeling down and need a laugh, watch this crap xD

Thanks to all who replied above. I don't think I have the will to fix it right now, but I'll try all of your suggestions later. Though I did feel a bit better by that video I still feel worse knowing I'm at the mercy of anonymous people (no offense). There's no one I know of who even has a gaming rig, and I've simply grown accustomed to fixing problems by website searching. Give me an hour at most...

It's ok man, all my other friends are a brick wall when it comes to PC hardware; and you kind of remind me of myself...See, I don't have thousands of dollars as a budget, and the last build I had was of 5 years ago, so if anything goes wrong within my build it is solely up to me to repair it. Ohh and trust me, I get so nervous and paranoid that it is not funny. If anything add me on skype and I'll go on in depth with you and your situation.
