Hi Toms HW, just a quick question regarding 12v rails. I am told online i need 30a or more in a 12v rail to run a gtx 980, i wanted to know whether because my psu has multiple 26a 12v rails can i add them together , therefore giving my psu a total of 52a on 2 12v rails and being able to run a gtx 980?

Thanks!! Thats kinda the whole reason i wanted to ask! I have a dodgey Tesla one which is nowhere to be found on the internet! So if i buy my gtx 980 (evga 04G-P4-2982-KR) It will all be ok?

I would not use a dodgy PSU on a high performance system. The down-side is so great. How old is the PSU? I'd be concerned that you had lost too much 'goody' from the capacitors, especially for a less than premium PSU. What are your practical options? A new/better PSU will last for many years.

The PSU is about 1 and a half years old.

How do you mean practical options?
