Hi All,
I just built a PC for my son. Everything seemed to be working fine when I powered it up. I installed all the enclosed software. Life was good and I was a hero.......at least for a little while!!!!!
My son informed me this morning that the system crashed a few times last night while he was playing some online games. Now this morning he tells me the system crashes before the game starts..... I guess while loading. There are no error windows popping up to help me narrow down the problem . I did check the bios to look at the temps, if I'm reading this right, it had a temp of 44 degrees...... Just a side note, this system was setup offline. I used just the enclosed software and activated windows by phone. Please help me get back my hero image ....lol
Here is what I ordered. I used pcpartspicker.com to insure compatibility .....

SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100373L Radeon R9 280 3GB 384-Bit
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX +SB950 6x
G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)MEM 8Gx2|GSKILL F3-1600C9D-16GSR R
LOGISYS Computer PS550E12BK 550W ATX12V Power Supp
AMD FX-6300 3.5Ghz UM6782 Six-Core Socket AM3+Vishera Desk
Western Digital Blue DX5854 WD10EZEX 1TB 7200RPM SATA
Microsoft Windows 8 OEM 64-bit (Full Version)
CASE RAIDMAX | ATX-809B RT

Just a side note: extra cables????? There was a few short ribbon cables , maybe 3" long. Any idea what there for?????

There will always be extra cables.
Logisys is kind of a garbage PSU maker, it's possible you're not getting the 550 watts it says. And you could be using up what power it does provide while gaming.

Can you get more evidence, like does the crash happen when it's idle, or only when it's gaming. Also what error codes does it throw up when it crashes. You can check Event Viewer to see the system crashes (Start > search "event viewer)
