Hi,

I have two Sapphire R9 290 (oc) crossfired. I have an Asus p8z68 pro gen3 motherboard with an i7 2600 processor. It runs ok, my question is would I get any more performance out of a newer motherboard? As the crossfire has no physical bridge is it dependant on the motherboards speed? I know my cards only run at pcie 2.0 x8

2.0 x8 is more than enough.

The only issue i could see is if you have the cards in the wrong slots.

Top most blue slot + white slot on that mobo for cf I believe.
