Hi,
I want to move a windows 7 installation to a new solid state drive (the old hard drive is crashing more and more often), but the partition can't be shrunk to less than 300GB due to some unmoveable logs made by Windows Defender. I can't delete some Microsoft Antimalware logs. I've tried to find a way to shut off it or delete it, all which didn't seem to work, but a couple of windows gurus have told me that I can simply create a working system by using xcopy in the command prompt and reinstalling the bootloader.
Is this true? I can't find anything that says it is or isn't for sure.
