Hey there, so I have trouble with overheating cpu for some time and went to PC service today, they suspect it's sensor false reading temperature..There is no am2 type of motherboard there right now, so if they get one, they will check to make sure it's sensors. I wanted to ask, if it is sensors for sure, is there way to bypass(or whatever it's called) PC shutdown without risk of doing damage to other components? Else is there way to repair it?

Motherboard- ga-m61pme-s2
CPU - AMD athlon x2 4800+

Sorry if there are mistakes am using phone, you know auto-correct..
Thanks in advance.

Depending on the mood 35-45°c idle stress 100-120°c in few minutes. While idling even simple refresh does 35-45 jump to 50-60 for second and goes back to normal. But even that 120 °c heatsink is colder than any other part in my case 35-40 °c graphic card is warmer then heatsink, I have tried stock then upgrade to tx3 evo pretty same result

Do not worry about things that jump to 50-60c for a second or two. That is normal when the CPU is doing some quick task.

As far as a stress test, anything at 100 or higher in my opinion is just begging for your CPU to die.

Go into the motherboard BIOS and make sure the CPU voltage is set to AUTO or at the following if set to manual:

Voltages 1.325/1.35/1.375V

I have tried everything already, I have this problem for 2 years, there was one thing that I did, while measuring temperature with hand I hit back fan got scared and slapped cooler temperatures instantly decreased to 60 in load, but that didn't last forever next time I opened case temps are back on same 100+load , and slapping doesn't work anymore :), anyway my question is: is there a way to bypass false temperature reading so PC doesn't shutdown without risk of doing damage to other components?
