how long will the GTX 970 AND 980 last?

Hello! Guys could you help me out cause I am all set in building my pc. I posted tue specs here also on Toms Hardware. Anyway, I just got worried because a new AMD GPU is coming out this June and a confirmed 980ti if I am correct, is also coming. So my question is should I still get one of these GPU or will they quickly lose performance be ause of how fasf games evolve? Thanks.

At 1080p you'll last a long time. As for price drops, if Nvidia's past is any indication, you will see some slight drops when the new AMDs come out in a month or so, but it'll be a while before you see a really big drop (unless the AMD 300s really shock the world in price and performance).

For single-monitor 60Hz 1080p they will last long, especially the 980, and especially if you don't feel that you just HAVE to crank every single parameter up to extra-ultra on upcoming AAA-titles.

Price drops always happen. If you're very price sensitive you should be able to easily find used 980s for a good price when the 980 Ti and 390X are released and the always-want-the-latest-money-is-no-problem crowd upgrade.
