with the newer intel mb they run better on two chips 8g each. the power supply in this build is a rebraned sesonic unit. if you have a local micro center the cpu is cheaper and there 40.00 instant combo deals. with the newer z97 mb there are more newer iteams like the m2 slots.

Unless I've missed something, you've only got the 240GB SSD as storage..? Dependent upon the number and type of games/programs you're going to install, you might find that a little tight (also, how many documents you're going to store, temporary store for video files, etc).

Otherwise, it looks good. I'm not sure on the PSU - I seem to remember there being an issue with some of the EVGA 650W PSUs (not sure if it's that model or not). Their 750W Gold-rated one is excellent ... http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20750xr

This post solution is quite alarming, given some obvious constraints:

1. The selected Intel 730 SSD is probably one of the worst choices that you could make in terms of performance value. Especially when there are blatantly better products out there at the $100 price point. Ref: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-730-Series-240GB-vs-Adata-Premier-SP610-256GB/2031vs3281
2. Secondly, but perhaps most importantly, you are going to have an extremely tough time reaping the GTX 970's performance with Sony Vegas Pro, as the latest drivers are not supported. Ref: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=4&MessageID=914754

I could go on, but I think you realize that this requires additional consideration.
