Hello everyone. I've been working on this problem for months -- to no avail.
3 yr old Dell Studio XPS
AMD Phenom II 2.7GHz
win 7 Pro native (not upgrade)
1/2TB drive
8GB DDR3 original

So here's a summary of problems and actions:

BSOD started about 2 months ago. Troubleshooting suggested memory stick issues. Replaced with DDR3 16GB - 1 8Gb stick at a time.

Did not fix BSOD

Computer Extremely slow +10 mins boot time

Started researching what to uninstall -- to avoid reloading OS

Tried msconfig options, but they crashed PC completely

Tried to boot without services and start up options - no go would not shut down

Tried to disable devices, no change.

Currently working in native Admin to troubleshoot.

Ran full diagnostic from Dell -- all h/w components tested and passed.

Unable to backup C: drive to exteral 1TB Maxtor -- fails before completing.

Manually copied important stuff to D: drive

Problems remain: very slow boot/operational time.
Frequent BSOD

What do I try next? Do I have to reload OS?

Hi Phillip, *sigh* I figured as much. Do you know of a way to do this without losing my config? I've got so much business software to reinstall with a clean install... it's going to take me days ....

I wish MS would fix these problems ...

There were so many BSODs I cannot remember all the codes ... I looked each of them up, which is what led me to the DRAM issue. However, they didn't always have an error code.

Clearly not going to be a problem with windows. Put a few of your more recent memory dumps on a server and post a link to them.
