Hello i recently bought an entirely new PC, setup below. Now during gaming i get constant crashes. For instance for GTA 5 i get an error ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT Crash
Get a crash window that is headed with ERRGFXD3D_INIT with this as the message:
Failed Initialization. Please reboot and restart the game. Try reinstalling the game if this persists.

Or something similar for Call of duty advanced warfare. Haven't tested for any other GPU intensive games. Other simple quality games work normally, GTA 5's safe mode also works normally. When the game crashes other parts of the PC still work. No BSOD, desktop is normally accessible. During gaming the FPS's are constantly high 80-100, no lag or stuttering.

I installed Heaven benchmarking tool and it never crashed. Also used the FurMark GPU testing tool, never crashed, except it showed the Power usage as near 99,0 % percent usage, GPU temp at 85C. I installed the GTA 5 ready drivers (350.12), also tried the previous version of drivers. No difference. Downclocked the GPU, no difference.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti, 3 GB, PCI-E (GV-N78TOC-3GD)
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K BOX, Haswell
RAM: 20 GB
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 3, LGA1150 ATX
PSU: 850 W

It's an issue between your graphics driver and initializing DirectX (microsofts graphics management engine software). Usually this can be resolved by reinstalling directx or reinstalling your graphics driver. During the graphics card driver install be sure to check the box for 'perform a clean installation'.

I have done the recommended and several other options, different drivers too, downclocking, increasing power output to the GPU. What i think fixed the problems was, because according to MSI Afterburner the onboard GPU somehow caused problems (GPU 2 showed several spikes at 100% usage of the GPU, despite being disabled), despite me disabling it and uninstalling the drivers. I completely disabled it in BIOS and now i played COD Advanced warfare normally without crashes and GTA 5 actually completed a Benchmark without crashing at a constant 60 FPS.
