Hello, i received an alienware aurora for free. I'm not much of PC gaming person, although i do enjoy playing games on consoles. I'm planning on selling my pc since i won't be using it, i just want to know how much it's worth. I'm not PC gaming savvy.

Also if someone could also tell me if this is an aurora r2 or r3.
Here are the specs.

Windows 7 home premium
Ati radeon 5700
600gb hard drive
intel core i7 920 @ 2.67 ghz
9 gb ram.

That's an OLD machine: the parts date it to somewhere around early 2009, so it's close to 6 years old. If I recall correctly, the "R3" units used the next generation of hardware later, which would mean this unit is an Aurora R2.

I don't see many R2s being sold, but a lot of the R3s that are similar-equipped are running around $500-700, and $800-1,000 for the R4s... So I would likely guess you could probably get around $300-400 for this, give or take. (For gamers, the big downside is the weak, ancient video card; the CPU and the rest are still usable, but for a gaming machine today it'd require a whole-new video card)

Upgrade the graphics card to something like a gtx 750ti or a R9 270, and you'd get a better profit, easy job even with you not being tech savvy you could easily do it mate.
