Looking to upgrade from AMD Athlon 64 3200+

I'm trying to upgrade my CPU im just having trouble finding which cpu will be supported on my motherboard. Id appreciate any help or recommendations. Don't have much knowledge about computers but i have a bit of info (hopefully enough) about my motherboard that will help.
Model RS/RX482SB400
Chipset Vendor - ATI
Chipset Model - Xpress 200 (RS480)
Southbridge Vendor - ATI
Southbridge Model - SB400
Southbridge Revision - 00

Yeah and so my computer can run a bit smoother over all. Would only be for one game in specific but it requires me to have 'Minimum: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 processor or better' I wouldn't be intending to play much else on the PC.

That motherboard is Socket 939, a really old one introduced in 2004. It will not support AMD Phenom CPUs like the X3 8750 mentioned.

Technically, I suppose you COULD get a dual-core CPU by virtue of a socket 939 Athlon64 X2 CPU. However, such will be rare, and likely not worth the expenditure. You would likely be best off buying a whole new base system.
